History

The economic and social life of Huascazaloyam, as it was called before, is transformed as a result of the need to build Haciendas for the benefit of silver, to practice the so-called patio system, so from the bonanza of the Veta de Vizcaína , in the 18th century, forces its owner Don Pedro de Romero de Terreros to look for a site for its construction, these haciendas are part of this beautiful place.

Picturesque, simple and above all strategic, Huasca is a perfect starting point to explore the former plantations, the fir forests, the dams, the rock formations and a natural jewel that stands out among the others: the Basaltic Prisms. Huasca de Ocampo has attracted personalities such as Humboldt, Melchor Ocampo and Romero de Terreros with its magic.
